Lace and Ruffles.. can't go wrong. Or can you?

I have had such a GREAT day! I am so lucky, my godsister Kate, is recently engaged to Tim, who we love. And for my dad (hardcore italian spirit) to admit that when talking about the man who is about to marry his goddaughter, we're making great strides!! There is hope for my sister and I and our boys of choice!! Anyway, she asked me WEEKS ago to go look at wedding dresses along with her mother, and her best friend Allison. Well of course I couldn't pass it up! I'm a sucker for these kind of things... I'm definetely a planner, and I can't wait to help Kate out with as many wedding plans as I can, and although I'm not a bridesmaid (not holding that against her, just shows how many friends she has) I have been asked to be a part of the wedding party!! Including the most important, bacherlorette weekend.. MY FIRST! I can't wait!

Moving on (can you tell I'm ADD?) we left Kate's house around 8:15, and drove ab0ut an hour away to the oldest Bridal store in Alabama, called 'Something Blue', where we found 2 gorgeous gowns (both lace, and trumpet style), and I must brag quickly.. Kate wasn't sure she was feeling the lace, but I begged her to try it.. she was very willing! And my lace choice ended up being a major contender.. arguably the favorite! YAY! I did make her try on one with ruffles, and bless her heart it was so NOT Kate! But she humored me anyway... such a good sister!

Next, we drove to Jasper, to 'Diane's' and although they closed at 4 today, I called ahead and had them go ahead and pull dresses that fit our guidelines and sizes. She tried several, very rushed, and then.. walked out in the most beautiful dress of the day. I am such a schmuck, before I knew it, tears were rolling down my cheeks, and the dress saleswoman was running me the tissues! Soon, she put a half veil on Kate, and I really think this was when Kate felt like a BRIDE! And we were allll in tears (almost all..)! We did not purchase the dress, but we certainley have not forgotten, and we will return ASAP for another go at THE dress!

Overall, it was a special day that I got to share with my godmother, and my godsister. I was so overwelmingly happy and more importantly exhuasted, that I am not going out tonight, opting instead to recreate a pretzel salad that I had a slice of at lunch today. Mine did NOT come out looking near as pretty and well put together as the restaurants, but hopefully it tastes as good!

Tomorrow I am leaving for Mobile to both visit my grandparents, and to do a litttle shopping. Mobile has GREAT boutiques!
